---- Chuck Palahniuk

Steven assists Exemplar clients on corporate, entertainment and intellectual property matters, with a focus on trademark law issues.  Steven joins Exemplar after a three-year tenure with the Summer Associate program of CA, Inc, (f/k/a Computer Associates International, Inc.).  During his time at CA, Steven not only worked extensively on international intellectual property licensing agreements, but also implemented governmental compliance programs and protocols through CA’s recently rejuvenated Compliance Department.  Steven’s experience in the law department of a large software corporation provided him with a unique insight into how clients can morally carry out business while still focusing on growth.

Steven received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College, with a concentration in Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought.  At Amherst, Steven concluded his fourteen-year competitive swimming career by qualifying for and attending NCAA Nationals for three seasons and receiving All-American honors in the 1,650-yard freestyle.  When out of the pool, Steven contributed his time and passion for creative writing to the UMASS Comic Art Society, an intercollegiate, student-run organization that annually published a collaborative graphic novel, The Penny Dreadful

Steven completed his Juris Doctorate at Suffolk University Law School, and is earning his Master of Business Administration at Suffolk's Sawyer School of Management. He has conducted in-depth research assignments on copyright infringement and trademark tarnishment projects, both independently and with faculty members.  He serves as an officer in the Phi Delta Phi Academic and Ethics Fraternity.

Be they embodied in books, theatrical productions or graphic novels, Steven lives for stories.  He also loves all kinds of music, including rock, folk, swing, jazz and blues.  When he’s not caring for his frisky Japanese AMERICAN fighting fish, Quint, Steven absorbs as much of the live entertainment and social life the city of Boston has to offer.

Creative and entrepreneurial individuals fascinate Steven.  Steven hopes to use his extensive academic and work experience to facilitate the artistry and dreams of imaginative, cutting-edge clients in a variety of industries.  Steven believes Exemplar’s progressive focus on providing incomparable value to its equally progressive clients exemplifies the firm’s forward-thinking approach to the practice of law- an approach that will provide him with the opportunity to bring his personal career goals to fruition.
